SMS Consent & Messaging Policy

Employees and contractors may optionally opt in to receive SMS notifications related to their account and work assignments through the Shadow Shifts platform.

These messages may include:

• Shift assignment notifications
• Dispatch notifications
• Account alerts
• Login or verification codes
• Other operational notifications related to your employment or scheduling

SMS messages are used solely for operational and account-related purposes.

Messages are sent from Shadow Shifts to the mobile phone number on file for the employee's account.

Shadow Shifts does not send marketing or promotional SMS messages.

Users provide their mobile phone number when:

• Creating an account in the Shadow Shifts platform
• Being onboarded by their employer or organization using Shadow Shifts
• Updating their contact information within the platform

Providing a phone number alone does not enroll a user in SMS notifications. Users must separately and affirmatively opt in by enabling the SMS consent option during onboarding or within account settings.

During onboarding, employees see an optional SMS consent toggle in the Shadow Shifts mobile app. The SMS consent checkbox is unchecked by default. SMS is not required to use Shadow Shifts — only the Privacy Policy must be accepted to continue. Employees may use the app without enabling SMS notifications.

Consent language presented in the app

If an employee chooses to opt in, the following language appears next to the optional SMS consent toggle. In the mobile app, the SMS Consent Policy is linked from this toggle.

The opt-in process works as follows:

• The employer or administrator may create an employee account and enter the employee's contact information. The employee must independently opt in to SMS notifications by checking the optional SMS consent toggle during onboarding or within account settings.
• Employees who opt in agree to the consent language shown above. All SMS messages are strictly operational: shift assignments, dispatch notifications, account alerts, and verification codes. No marketing or promotional content is ever sent.
• When an employee opts in, they receive a confirmation text message:
  "Shadow Shifts dispatch notifications have been enabled. Reply START to confirm you want to receive SMS notifications."
  Operational SMS notifications begin only after the employee replies START.
• Employees who no longer wish to receive SMS messages can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message.

You may opt out of receiving SMS messages at any time by replying:

STOP

to any message received from Shadow Shifts.

After sending STOP, you will no longer receive SMS notifications from Shadow Shifts unless you re-enable SMS notifications through your account or administrator.

Opt-out instructions are included in every SMS message sent by Shadow Shifts.
